The 7^th All India Conference of All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union was held in at "Gurukunj Ashram" Mozri in Amravati District of Maharashtra Circle, from 6^th to 8^th April, 2012. Shri D.N. Giri, BPM Sivani Amravati,Dn. (Maharashtra) and Shri S.S. Mahadevaiah, GDSMD Doorvani Nagar P.O.Bangalore East Dn. are unanimously reelected as President and General Secretary. Sri B.V.RAO BPM Chadalavada BO of Tenali Dn of ANDHRA PRADESH circle was elected as Ist Asst General Secretary.

The revised travel entitlements are subject to the following:-

(i) In case of places not connected by rail, travel by AC bus for all those entitled to travel by AC II Tier and above by train and by Deluxe/ordinary bus for others is allowed.

(ii) In case of road travel between places connected by rail, travel by any means of public transport is allowed provided the total fare does not exceed the train fare by the entitled class.

(iii) Henceforth, all mileage points earned by Government employees on tickets purchased for official travel shall be utilized by the concerned department for other official travel by their officers. Any usage of these mileage points purposes of private travel by an officer will attract departmental action. This is to ensure that the benefits out of official travel, which is funded by the Government, should accrue to the Government.

(iv) All Government servants are allowed to travel below their entitled class of travel.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL ENTITLEMENT

GDS SERVICE DISCHARGE BENEFITS

Ex-gratia Gratuity	Granted at the rate of half months basic TRCA drawn immediately before discharge of service for each completed year of service subject to a maximum of Rs 18,000 or 16.5 months basic TRCA last drawn whichever is less. Severance Amount	A Lumpsum severance amount of Rs 30,000/- is paid on discharge provided a GDS has completed 20 years of continuous service. In case of a GDS completing 15 years of service but less than 20 years of continuous service the severance amount paid is Rs 20,000	Severance Amount shall be paid at the rate of Rs 1500 for every completed year of service subject to a Maximum ofRs 60000with reduction in Minimum eligibility period to 10 years.
